In November 2024, the Federal Police submitted to the Federal Supreme Court the final report of an investigation that identified an alleged criminal organization dedicated to keeping former president Jair Bolsonaro in power, even after his defeat in the 2022 elections.
According to the report, 37 individuals were identified as members of the group, which allegedly operated through separate cells to discredit the electoral process, intimidate authorities, and undermine the Democratic Rule of Law.
The evidence was gathered over nearly two years through court-authorized measures, including the lifting of telecommunication, telephone, banking, and tax records; plea agreements; search and seizure operations; and other judicially approved actions.
The investigations reached the Supreme Court under seal and were assigned to Justice Alexandre de Moraes, who was already overseeing other cases connected to the group. In November, he lifted the confidentiality order and forwarded the case files to the Office of the Prosecutor General (PGR), the authority responsible for filing charges or requesting dismissal before the Federal Supreme Court.
